Securing Files
For so many times, I find myself installing the same programs again and again, downloading my emails to my email program again, looking for the sites I love and bookmarking them again and so on and so forth. And yes, the common denominator of them all is AGAIN and this happens every time my PC crashes and/or I upgrade to a new operating system which some are not compatible with what I currently have or had before.
Anyway, I only knew that there is one solution for this and that is getting a computer backup online account. I have been thinking of getting once since time immemorial but because of the lack of financial resources or having different priorities (family and the kids’ school needs), I have set aside the need of getting one. But since I am already tired of doing the same thing over and over again especially we do not know what the future holds, I am planning of getting one this year. Not immediately because I need to save for it.
Aside from that, I am also thinking of getting an external drive for my pictures. I have lots of them and I want to secure them. I already lost 8GB from my mobile phone the last time it was corrupted and I don’t want it to happen again!
Show Your Support
Are you one of those who are supporting the green environment? How about sharing cancer awareness? Maybe you are proud of your alma mater or the company you belong to especially that you grew with it to its success. Such advocacies and special groups and even companies need something to get continually noticed. There may be ad campaigns but nothing beats the personal campaign like having lapel pins custom made for the specific advocacy or brand. Wearing one (or several, depending on the number of groups or companies supported) is like having the “word of mouth” out without being noisy. The psychological effect is deeper.
Driving My Blues Away!
“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks,” so the saying goes. This is why some people would find it too late to learn a skill when they are in their 30’s. Well, the good news is that we are not dogs and 30 something is not yet old!
Come to think about it, how old was I when I started working online? It was not easy at first, but I eventually got the hang of it, and have learned so much over the years. I am thinking of a skill to learn this year aside from upgrading my technical skills.
Being in a musically-inclined family (hubby being a musician and having kids which are very much into music), maybe I should start learning how to play the cordoba c5. I don’t expect to be a famous musician, but at least I can play some songs when I just feel like singing a song to drive my blues away!
Worth Your Investment
To have a name card is a necessity these days. If you own a business, especially, you will never really know the opportunities that you could bump into—so it’s always best to have these cards ready and take them out to be handed when needed.
When it comes to choosing a calling card/name card, you would have a lot of choices to choose from these days. Of course you could always stick to the traditional ones, but plastic cards would be best as it could last you longer. Plastic card printing is not that hard to find these days. It might cost more than the ordinary ones, but it will always be worth your investment.
My Guitar Prince
Maybe you could say that the key to a woman’s heart is to sing her a song. That worked for me, at least. Hubby plays the guitar and what can I say? Those serenades of his really won my heart. Fast forward 12 years… I am now married to him, and have budding musician kids.
We just celebrated our 12th year anniversary with a dinner—both of us were not able to give each other gifts, but I would have given him les paul if I had the chance. Maybe for his birthday I could. If not, then there will always be anniversaries every year!
Birthdays Reset
We have just entered a new year and with that, we are all getting older. It will just happen at different times during the year but adding another year to our ages is just inevitable.
With that, we will be celebrating birthdays in our family and among our circle of friends. We shall be buying gifts for kids birthdays, for our parents, for our grandparents, our closest friends, even our bosses.
The item may just depend on the budget but well, as inevitable as the celebration is, so is the buying of gifts. It is something that we have to save on so that we can give out good things for others.
A Good Dance Workout
Many of us really gained weight over the holidays because of the endless parties. And there is just so much food to go around. For mommies who hate wasting food, they try to finish whatever they can because they feel it is their responsibility.
But because of all the food intake, we just find out that we had already more than tipped the scales. The best thing to do now is to reduce food intake and then do some routines, like a zumba dance workout.
It is fun, low-impact, and makes us burn calories and fat. It is just what we need for the after-holiday weight gain.
